History of the Century Guest House
On September 18, 2001 Paul and Julia the owners of the Century Guest House had some renovations done. This included pulling out the old insulation and having it replaced. When the contractor opened up the walls they discovered the insulation was newspaper. The date on the newspaper was exactly 100 years earlier to the day that he pulled it out. Thus the name the Century House.
That same newspaper has been framed and hung in the house along with other local memorabilia.
The Century Guest House is conveniently located in downtown Golden. You can easily walk or bike to groceries, shopping, movie theatre and other sites. Sit in the hot tub and enjoy the mountain views. The Island Restaurant is located steps away.
